Jack H. Mariner, 94, of Bushnell, IL passed away at 1:00 PM on Monday July 9, 2018 at the Meadows Retirement Community in Chenoa, IL.
He was born February 16, 1924 in Macomb, IL to Charles “Jack” and Edythe (Harris) Mariner. He married Reta M. Raymond in Roseville, IL on December 9, 1956; she preceded him in death on August 12, 1980. He later married Patricia Everly on November 11, 1983; she preceded him in death on May 15, 1996.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and step-son, Tom LaCourse.
He is survived by two daughters, Pam (Timothy) Good of Manhattan, IL, Nancy Mariner of Normal, IL; six step-children, Jeannie Phillips of Indianapolis, IN, Deb (Dockstader) Randy of Galesburg, IL, Larry “Boge” LaCourse of Bushnell, IL, Tim (Daphne) LaCourse of Bushnell, IL, David (Starr) LaCourse of Robertsdale, AL, Rhonda (John) Warren of Pontiac, IL; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Jack served his country as a U.S. Marine during WWII and Korea, and was active in the Bushnell VFW for many years. He served on the McDonough County Planning Commission, Illinois Farm Bureau Board of Directors, and the Bushnell Fire Protection District, as a trustee and president.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday July 13, 2018 at the Bushnell Cemetery. Timothy Good will officiate. Calling hours will be held before the service from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home.
