Carroll Laverne "Mac" McBride, 85, of rural Colchester passed away at 2:32 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
He was born on May 4, 1933 in Alexis, Illinois to Lester and Ruby Reynolds McBride. He married Marlene Christian on February 10, 1954 in Aledo. She passed away on December 9, 2010.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Diane McBride; granddaughter, Megan McBride and two brothers, Earl and Gerald McBride.
Mac is survived by one son, Vern (Kim) McBride of Macomb; one daughter, Margaret McBride of Monmouth; three grandchildren, Trey (Kerry) McBride of Macomb, Shawn Bale of Joliet and Jenny (Jason) Cox of Monmouth; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Darlene Johnson, Phyllis (James) Mizner, Nancy Fowler and Doris (Larry) Chadwick and one brother, Rolland McBride.
Mac has lived in Colchester for the last 11 years. He was a Marine Corps veteran serving in Korea during peace time from 1954 to 1956. He was a Illinois State Trooper Lieutenant for many years, retiring on December 31, 1997.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. Cremation rites will be conducted following the visitation.
