Wetterling Dominates in impressive Bomber Win
The Macomb Bombers varsity baseball team picked up a nice win as they ran it up against Augusta-Southeastern on Wednesday, April 3.
The Bombers were able to kick off the first inning with a sac from VJ Lane which in return gave them 2 runs. Pitcher Dylan Wetterling had an excellent game as he threw a no hitter to give the Bombers a 12-1 win. Wetterling pitched five innings, allowing no hits and five strikeouts. Ben Higgins was another highlighted player as he drove in 6 runs and went 3-4 at the plate. Higgins had the most impressive inning in the 5th as he hit a home run and as well as a triple.
The pitcher for Augusta Southeastern, Shad Flesner, allowed four hits and three runs against his team. Flesner was only able to get seven strikeouts during the four innings he pitched. The Bombers were able to get a total of nine hits. Ben Higgins and John Ogle had six hits between them with three hits a piece.
The Bombers will look to carry this momentum into their next game against Canton at home on Friday, April 5, at 4:30 PM.
