Macomb Vs. Mt. Zion Preview (Ft. Mark Hespen's interview with coach Tony Westen)

The Macomb Bombers hit the road this week to take on the Mt. Zion Braves this week in a matchup that sees them travel more than 130 miles away. Macomb comes into the game with a 2-1 record, having won their last two. Mt. Zion also comes in 2-1, but is coming off a tough loss, 41-14, at Effingham.

Macomb will likely be leaning on Sophomore QB VJ Lane tonight, as he has led this team time and time again with his arm and running game. Lane will have plenty of talent at his disposal between Bryan Farkas at running back and the trio of John Ogle, Evis Campbell, and Kyle Protsman at receiver. This is truly one of the more talented skill position groups in the area.

Macomb saw a drastic improvement in its line play, both on offense and defense last week, and will need to keep that going this week. Mt. Zion has a running back in Sage Davis who rushed for nearly 100 yards last week, so Cody McKee and Alai Stone will once again have to be on their game on the defensive side of the ball.

This should be an interesting game and you can listen to it live on 100.1 WKAI “K100”. The game will also be live streaming on the K100 Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/k100wkai/. Kickoff is set for 7 PM.
