It was an absolute heartbreaking loss for the Bombers girls varsity basketball team as they fell at home to the Bushnell Prairie City Spartans 57-48.
The Bombers trailed at halftime by 12 points 30-18. It was a magical 3rd quater that got the Bombers back in the game out scoring the Spartans 19 to 10. The game was tied 43-43 with only a couple mins left in the 4th quarter but the Bombers were running on fumes with 4 players having fouled out of the game. The Spartans pulled away behind a sensational performance by #21 Madison Allen. The Spartans outgained the Bombers 14-5 down the stretch leading to the final score of 57-48.
While the Bombers fell to 0-8 on the year there were lots of positives to be taken away from this game. 9 players scored for the Bombers, lead by Reagan Johnson's 9 points. The Bombers will look to get their 1st win of the season on Thursday night at Rushville Industry.
