The Monmouth Roseville Titans beat the St. Bede Bruins on Friday night, October 5, to clinch the first undefeated home season for Monmouth in school history. Monmouth also reached six wins and an automatic playoff berth for the first time since 2012. The final score of the game was: Monmouth Roseville 48-16 St. Bede.
Monmouth came in with a goal of establishing the run game, and they were able to do that with a dominant performance from Senior CJ Daniel. Daniel only carried the ball 15 times, but was able to capitalize nearly every time he touched the ball. He ran for 268 yards and 3 touchdowns, and carried this team to a victory.
The Titans were also backed by the throwing efforts of quarterback Addison Fletcher. Fletcher went 4-8 for 134 passing yards, which may seem pedestrian, but he added two touchdowns throwing as well. Those two touchdowns put the cherry on top of an extremely impressive performance by Monmouth-Roseville.
Monmouth Roseville will have a chance for another milestone win this Friday, October 12, when they head to Princeton for a road conference game. If Monmouth wins, they would clinch their first conference championship in school history! Kickoff for this one is scheduled for 7 PM.
