Tanner Hall will once again be the stage for one of WIU’s most “hair-raising”
Event in its history, The Annual St. Baldrick’s Fundraiser.
The event challenges participants to shave their heads, volunteer time or donate money to give hope to infants, children and teens who fighting childhood cancers.
Each year a goal is set in place for fund raising and this year the mark is $10,000. Last year the organization raised more than $12,000.
The St. Baldrick's Foundation is volunteer-driven charity that awards childhood cancer research grants. More than 175,000 children worldwide will be diagnosed with cancer this year, meaning one diagnosis every three minutes.
This year, there are slated to be more than 30 heads shaved during WIU’s event. Also there will be activities for children, a photo booth and refreshments available.
