MACOMB – The Wesley United Methodist Church is now accepting free home repair applications for their 11th annual Streaming Waters Work Week. The service will be available to residents of McDonough County. The Church will be offering help to homeowners who cannot work due to financial or physical reasons during the week of June 3rd to June 7th.

Applications for the home repair projects are due Friday, April 19th. Forms can be found throughout McDonough County, including Wesley United Methodist Church, 1212 W. Calhoun St., Macomb, and on the church’s website, www.macombwesleyumc.com/ministry/missions. Applicants will be chosen based on the necessity of the repair, the homeowner’s financial need and their inability to do work. Types of work include building ramps; cleaning basements, garages and rain gutters; painting; repairing walls, fences and porches; and yard work. Roof repair is not offered.

Project chair, Carolyn Grove, said, “We have done work on more than 200 homes since Streaming Waters Work Week began in 2009. It’s a local mission in which neighbors help neighbors. Over the years, volunteers from other churches have joined us to make it a true community event. There’s a job for everyone, and we always need people with construction experience. It’s a lot of work, but it’s also a lot of fun.”
