A $15,000 federal forestry grant has been awarded to the City of Macomb and the Macomb
Park District to plant about 150 trees around the City.
The grant was received from the Morton Arboretum as a part of its $170,000 program to fund
tree-planting, obtaining tree inventory and developing tree protection ordinances.
Macomb May Mike Inman said the city is very appreciative to the U.S. Forest Service and the
Morton Arboretum for awarding the grant.
The City of Macomb has a long-standing commitment to both its natural and community
environment,” Inman said. “This grant also continues the partnership with the Macomb Park
District and volunteer organizations in Macomb such at the Centennial Rotary Club.”
