Schuyler Co Sheriff Bill Redshaw reports the following action in Schuyler Co for the week of July 15-July 23 

 

On 7/15/2019 

Tracy Brandon of Mt. Sterling was driving a 2000 Chevy and was travelling east on Sand Ridge Rd when the driver side rear tire came off and came to a stop in the roadway. A juvenile of Mt. Sterling was driving 1993 Dodge and collided with Brandon in the rear of the vehicle. 

 

Joseph Sprague was arrested on a $25,000.00 Schuyler Co Warrant and lodged in the Schuyler Co Jail.

Abigail Flannigan of Rushville was cited for Speeding 80mph in a 55mph zone

Morgan Ray of Rushville was driving a 2017 Hyundai and rear-ended Rodge Heaton of Vermont who was driving a 2012 KIA. Heaton slowed due to an animal in the roadway. 

 

On 7/21/2019 

Kelsey Harper of Mendon was cited for Speeding 71mph in a 55mph zone 

 

Ryan Large of Rushville was cited for Driving on Right Side of Roadway 

 

Esmeralda Figueroa of Beardstown was cited for Speeding 76mph in a 55mph zone. 

 

Ryan Large of Rushville was driving a 2003 Volkswagon and was turning North onto Kinderhook Rd. Large was driving on the wrong side of the roadway. Mary Richardson of Browning was driving a 2016 Chevy and came around the corner, slowed and hit Large in the driver rear quarter panel and Large steered right trying to avoid a head on collision. 

 

7/22/2019 

Tammy Schoch of Quincy was cited for Speeding 71mph in a 55mph zone 

 

Sharon Shields of O’Fallon, MO was cited for Speeding 78mph in a 55mph zone 

 

Heather Irwin reported a theft of her car battery, battery box, a debit card and an ID badge from her vehicle. The vehicle was parked at Sugar Creek Rd and RT 67 Jct. This is under investigation, if you have any information please contact our office. 

 

Dinara Lewis was arrested by Deputy Ward on a McDonough warrant. Bond is $5000.00, Lewis was transferred to McDonough Co 

 

Stephen Palmer was arrested by Cass Co on a Schuyler Co warrant with a $7500.00 bond. Palmer was lodged in the Schuyler Co Jail

07/16/19 

Logan G Meyers, age 20, of Keokuk, IA was arrested and charged with Driving While License Suspended. Meyers was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date. 

 

Jonah R Moulton, age 40, of Macomb, IL was arrested on a Hancock County Warrant charging him with Failure to Appear / Failure to Pay on original charges of Operating an Uninsured Vehicle. Moulton was also arrested on an Adams County Warrant charging him with Failure to Appear / Failure to Pay on original charges of Theft, Improper Use of Registration, and Operating Uninsured Vehicle. Moulton was released to Adams County Authorities. 

 

 

07/17/19 

Joshua W Milligan, age 27, of Fort Madison, IA was arrested and charged with No Insurance, No Valid Registration, and No Valid Driver's License. Milligan was released on his own recognizance and given a future court date. 

 

Ruth C Silk, age 59, of Fort Madison, IA was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence. Silk was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date. 

 

07/18/19 

Steven P Thibon, age 53, of Keokuk, IA was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence. Thibon was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date. 

 

Jason E Nichols, age 35, of LaHarpe, IL was arrested and charged with Driving While License Suspended. Nichols was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date. 

 

Kent M Elder, age 36, of Bowen, IL was arrested and charged with Driving While License Suspended. Elder was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date.

License and No Insurance. East was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date.

Monroe was also arrested on a Hancock County Warrant charging him with Failure to Appear on original charges of Driving While License Revoked. Man Wanted For Sexual Assault Arrested

Dallas City, IL--On July 12, 2019 at 5:00pm, Dashaun O. Wright, (also known as Dashaun O. Muse) a 20 year old, from Dallas City, Hancock County, Illinois, was arrested on an original Hancock County Warrant. The warrant was issued for the offense of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault, a class X felony. 

 

The warrant stems from a Hancock County Sheriff's Office investigation into a report of a sexual relationship between Wright and a child under 13 years of age. 

Wright remains in jail on the $100,000 warrant. 

 

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

 

Hancock County Sheriff's Office's was assisted by Hancock County States' Attorney Rachel Mast and the Advocacy Network for Children. 

 


ISP Traffic Crash Alert

MACOMB - The Illinois State Police of District 14 has alerted McDonough County of a two truck crash on IL 336 that occurred early this morning that left one truck driver with a minor injury.

 Aron K. Sowers (50) from Colchester, IL was driving a 2016 Mack Dump Truck northbound on CRD 350 E, looking to cross IL 336. Sowers was not able to yield in time of the upcoming traffic, causing a collision into another truck. 

 

Richard K. Seward (63) from Monroe City, MO was driving a 2006 International Box Truck in the crash with Sowers. Both trucks traveled into a nearby ditch on the northwest intersection of IL 336. The McDonough County Sheriff’s Department, Colchester Fire & Rescue, and McDonough District Hospital Ambulance Service assisted in an effort to help resolve the traffic crash.

 

Seward was taken to MDH for minor/non-life-threatening injuries. Sowers was cited for failure to yield at an intersection.


Hancock County Man Arrested on Sexual Abuse Charges

Sheriff Scott Bentzinger reports the arrest and conviction of 23 year old Jonathan D. Singletary. 

 

Singletary was arrested on a Hancock County Warrant in the state of Georgia on April 23, 2019 for the charge of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. Singletary was subsequently extradited back to Hancock County, IL. 

 

The charges stem from an investigation by Hancock County Deputies into a report received on April 17, 2019 that Singletary had engaged in a sexual relationship with a 13 year old juvenile. 

On Monday July 8, 2019 Singletary pleaded guilty and was sentenced to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. 

 

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Advocacy Network for Children, the Hancock County State's Attorney's Office, and the Illinois State Police Division of Forensic Services. 

 

All subjects are to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 


Juveniles Arrested In Burglary

Macomb Police Chief Curt Barker announces the arrests by Macomb Police Department’s Investigations Division of two juveniles involved in two BURGLARIES. The burglaries involved the theft of two AR-15s and ammunition.

 

On 07/07/19 at approximately 4:36 a.m., Macomb Police responded to Pawn Plus 324 W. Jackson St. in Macomb for an alarm. Upon arrival Officers found the glass to the front door shattered and two AR-15s missing from the business. Macomb Police Investigators arrived and processed the scene.

 

At approximately 9:35 a.m., Macomb Police were then alerted to a burglary that had occurred earlier in the night at Farm King. Investigators were able to determine that weapons were attempted to be taken from the business by the suspects, but they were not able to get access to the weapons. The suspects took ammunition from the store and fled. Investigators were able to determine that the suspects that entered Pawn Plus were the same suspects that conducted the burglary at Farm King.

 

At approximately 10:00 a.m., Investigators determined through interviews two possible suspects were at Prairie View Housing. Investigators were able to locate the two suspects and locate evidence at the residence connecting the suspects to both burglaries. The AR-15’s and ammunition were recovered in a nearby dumpster.

 

Two 13 year old juveniles were charged with Burglary, Criminal Damage Over $500, and Possession of a firearm without a FOID.

Logan Bledsow of Warrensburg, IL was cited for Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor 

Juan Diaz-Hernandez of Beardstown was cited for Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor 

A female juvenile of Browning was driving a 2014 Dodge Sedan traveling southbound on Moore Chapel Rd when she lost control of the vehicle as it proceeded onto Hall Rd. The juvenile overcorrected and overturned coming to a rest on the driver’s side in a cornfield.

Jeremiah Self was cited for Criminal Damage to Property 

Abril D Pate of Beardstown was driving a 2012 Chevy Traverse backed into a male juvenile of Littleton driving a 2015 Jeep. No injuries were reported 

 

On 7/8/2019 

Jurado Noguez of Springfield was cited for Speeding 70mph in a 55mph zone 

Zachary Ballinger of Colchester was cited for Speeding 80mph in a 55mph zone

Suspects Apprehended in Armed Robbery

Chief Curt Barker announces the arrests of four suspects involved in an ARMED ROBBERY that occurred on 07/06/19.

 

At approximately 9:37 p.m., Macomb Police were dispatched to 302 Wigwam Hollow Circle in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival officers learned the robbery was part of a drug transaction.

 

Investigators were able to identify four subjects involved in the armed robbery.

 

On 07/07/19 Investigators conducted surveillance on a residence in the 300 block of N. Clay St. and were able to initiate a traffic stop of a vehicle leaving the residence. The passenger in the vehicle was identified as Tony Green 23 (Cedar Rapids, IA). He was subsequently arrested for armed robbery. A firearm used in the armed robbery was recovered from the vehicle.

 

Investigators were then able to stop a second vehicle leaving the residence and located Marchello Townsel 22 (Burlington, IA). Townsel was arrested for armed robbery.

 

A search warrant was conducted at 333 N. Clay St. and two additional suspects were placed under arrest for their involvement in the armed robbery. The suspects were identified as Christian Walker 19 (Macomb, IL) and Vannessa Napolitano 18 (Macomb, IL). Both were charged with armed robbery.

 

All Subjects are innocent until proven guilty.


Lafferty Arrest

NAUVOO - The Nauvoo Police Department has finally released a report today on the arrest of, 33 year old, Daniel Scott Lafferty. Lafferty was arrested on May 28th in an investigation of the sexual assault of a child, which happened in Nauvoo, Illinois. 

 

Mike Boley, the Chief of Police for NPD, reported this information and explains that Lafferty is being held in Hancock County Jail for the following charges: 

 

One count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child, a Class X Felony

Ten counts of Child Pornography, each a Class X Felony

Twenty-one counts of Child Pornography, each a Class 2 Felony

Two counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, each a Class 2 Felony

Nine counts of Child Pornography, each a Class 3 Felony

 

Upon those charges, the NPD is also investigating the evidence found for charges in Ft. Madison, Iowa where Lafferty may have committed additional crimes. The Ft. Madison Police Department put out a nationwide warrant for Lafferty’s arrest. These crimes include: 

 

Five Counts of 2nd Degree Sexual Abuse, each a Class B Felony

Five Counts of Incest, each a Class D Felony

One Count of misdemeanor Indecent Exposure 

 

Furthermore, the investigations continue against Lafferty while he is being held in Hancock County Jail on a $400,000 bond for the most recent felonies he is being charged for. There will be 54 charges made against Lafferty if found guilty, but he still considered innocent until proven otherwise.
