WIU Office of Public Safety Report 10-13-17 to 10-16-17

On Oct. 13 at 8:46 p.m. Nathan Odeh, 19, of 328 Corbin Hall, was issued a notice to appear Nov. 21 for a Macomb city ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by minor in Corbin.

On Oct. 14 at 8:41 p.m. a student reported to OPS that she was the struck by someone known to her. The incident, which took place in a residence hall, is under investigation.

On Oct. 15 at 12:58 p.m. a student reported that his locked bicycle, valued at $130, was stolen from the Lincoln Hall bike rack. The incident is under investigation.

On Oct. 15 at 6:47 p.m. a student reported to OPS that she was the struck by someone known to her. The incident, which took place off campus on Oct. 14, is under investigation.

WIU Office of Public Safety Report 10-09-17 to 10-11-17

On Oct. 10 at 3:46 p.m. a student came to Mowbray Hall to report the theft of her unlocked bicycle, valued at $50, from the bicycle rack on the north side of Malpass Library. The incident is under investigation.

On Oct. 10 at 5:42 p.m. a student near Henninger Hall was judicially referred for behavior.

WIU Office of Public Safety Report 10-04-17 to 10-06-17

On Oct. 4 at 10:53 a.m. an employee reported the theft of a TV from the Bayliss Hall third floor lounge. The incident is under investigation.

On Oct. 4 at 7:40 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in Bayliss Hall. No smoke or fire were found and no injuries were reported.

On Oct. 5 at 5:25 p.m. one student was judicially referred for cannabis and alcohol and one student was judicially referred for cannabis in the 900 block of North Charles Street.

On Oct. 5 at 6:48 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in Tanner Hall. No smoke or fire were found and no injuries were reported.

On Oct. 5 at 7:21 p.m. two students in Tanner Hall were judicially referred for behavior in Tanner Hall.

WIU Office of Public Safety Report 10-06-17 to 10-09-17

On Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. De Andre Miller, 18, of 805 Tanner Hall, was arrested in the 300 block of University Drive for reckless driving following an accident, which caused an estimated $700 in property damage along University Drive. Miller was ticketed for reckless driving and assigned a Nov. 8 court date. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 6:05 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On Oct. 7 at 4:51 a.m. a 14-year-old juvenile in Tanner Hall was issued a citation for curfew and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. The juvenile was released to his parents.

On Oct. 7 at 11:31 a.m. an individual reported at OPS that sometime between 11:20-11:30 p.m. on Oct. 6, she was struck in the back by a BB while waiting at the Murray Street bus stop. The incident is under investigation.

On Oct. 8 at 3:07 p.m. non student Corrion Martin, 20, of Chicago, was arrested near Charles and Orchard streets for domestic battery and criminal damage after an alleged incident in Tanner Hall. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 3:15 P.M. where he as lodged pending bond.

On Oct. 9 at 12:23 a.m. Chynyun Tan, 19, of 720 Tanner Hall, received a notice to appear Nov. 14 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis (less than 10 grams).

WIU Office of Public Safety Report 10-02-17 to 10-04-17

On Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. a student reported at Mowbray Hall that sometime between Sept. 30 and Oct. 2, his license plate and part of the bumper on his vehicle were stolen while the vehicle was parked in the Knoblauch Hall lot. The estimated value of the items is $126. The incident is under investigation.

On Sept. 29 at 9:10 p.m. non-student Krusan Garth, 23, of Macomb, was arrested on West Calhoun Street on a warrant for failure to appear. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 9:50 p.m. pending bond. 

On Sept. 30 at 2:08 a.m. Eric Mackenna, 19, of 1403 Thompson Hall?, was arrested at Hanson Field for illegal consumption/possession of alcohol by a minor. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 2:31 a.m. pending bond.

On Sept. 30 at 2:10 a.m. a student at Hanson Field was judicially referred for alcohol possession. 

On Sept. 30 at 9:20 a.m. Vincente Reyna, 19 and Andriy Andrusyk, 19, both of 819 Corbin Hall, were arrested in Corbin Hall for unlawful possession/consumption of alcohol by a minor. Andrusyk was additionally charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 10:24 a.m. pending bond.

On Sept. 30 at 1:42 p.m. a student in Q-Lot was judicially referred for behavior.

On Sept. 30 at 1:44 p.m. a student in Q-Lot was judicially referred for alcohol possession.

On Sept. 30 at 1:57 p.m. a student in Q-Lot was judicially referred for alcohol possession.

On Sept. 30 at 2:33 p.m. non-student Matthew Milani-Moran, 23, of 130 N. Ward St., was arrested in Q-Lot on a warrant for failure to appear. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 2:43 p.m. pending bond.

On Sept. 30 at 3:32 p.m. non-student Mikaela Broom, 20, of Atascadero, CA was issued a notice to appear Oct. 31 for a Macomb City ordinance violation of unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor in Q-Lot.

On Sept. 30 at 5:08 p.m. a student in Q-Lot reported her cellular telephone stolen. The incident is under investigation.

On Sept. 30 at 5:54 p.m. non-student Nestor Gutierrez, 28, of Chapin, IL, was issued a notice to appear Nov. 7 for a Macomb City ordinance violation of disorderly conduct in Q-Lot.

On Sept. 30 at 9:40 p.m. Brody Williams, 20, of 1302 Thompson Hall?,? was issued a notice to appear Nov. 7 for a Macomb City ordinance violation of unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor in Thompson.

On Sept. 30 at 9:51 p.m. two students in Tanner Hall were judicially referred for cannabis possession.

On Sept. 30 at 10:53 p.m. one student was judicially referred for possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

On Sept. 30 at 10:56 p.m. Kevin Chism, 25, of 502 Thompson Hall, was arrested in Thompson on a warrant for failure to appear. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 11:06 p.m. pending bond.

On Oct. 1 at 2:21 a.m. non-student Logan Cooper, 18, of Monmouth, IL, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 31 for Macomb City ordinance violations of unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and misrepresentation of age in L-Lot.

On Oct. 1 at 2:54 p.m. a student reported she was sexually assaulted Sept. 16 in a residence hall by someone known to her. The incident is under investigation.

On Sept. 27 at 11:58 a.m. a student reported the theft of a bicycle, valued at $50, from the bike rack on the east side of Brophy Hall. The bike was found in the Tanner Circle bike rack later that day.

On Sept. 27 at 8:26 p.m. two students in Tanner Hall were judicially referred for cannabis.

On Sept. 27 at 11:35 p.m. Jaiane McGee, 19, of 219 C Grote, was arrested in Grote Hall on a McDonough County warrant for failure to appear. She was transported to McDonough County Jail at 11:37 where she was lodged pending bond.

On Sept. 28 at 11:26 a.m. a student reported the theft of his iPhone 7, valued at $685 with the case, from the bathroom on the 10th floor of Thompson Hall earlier that morning. The incident is under investigation.

On Sept. 28 at 2:30 p.m. a student reported that she was sexually harassed by a few males on campus while walking on the north quad near the football field at 11 p.m. Sept. 27. The student stated that a group of males began yelling sexually explicit statements, and then the men approached the subject, and one of the males grabbed her purse and fled. After the student used pepper spray on the other individuals, the purse was retuned and they fled the scene. The incident is under investigation.

On Sept. 28 at 4:30 p.m. a student reported that she was sexually assaulted by a male known to her. The assault occurred in the evening hours of Sept. 25 in a residence hall. The incident is under investigation.

On Sept. 28 at 9:07 p.m. a student in Henninger Hall was judicially referred for cannabis on West University Drive.

On Sept. 29 at 12:42 a.m. Orlando Mattox, 18, and Kyler Hughes, 19, both of 909 Bayliss Hall, were each issued a notice to appear Oct. 31 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis in Bayliss Hall.

On Sept. 29 at 2:19 a.m. Richard Bongeorno, 18, of 519 Bayliss Hall, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 31 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis in Bayliss Hall.

On Sept. 29 at 2:52 a.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in the Henninger Hall fifth floor lounge. No smoke or fire were found and no injuries were reported.

On Sept. 22 at 9:14 a.m. an employee at Stipes Hall reported that a bicycle, owned by University Technology, worth $50, had been stolen from the Stipes Hall bike rack sometime after mid-August. The theft is under investigation.

On Sept. 22 at 5:21 p.m. Arturo Gray, 24, of 410 W. Adams Apt. 4, was arrested in the 100 block of West Pierce Street for driving while license suspended and expired registration. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 5:36 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On Sept. 23 at 10:13 p.m. one student in Thompson Hall was judicially referred for possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Sept. 24 at 1:35 a.m. Donald Wetterling, 19, of 730 Glenoak Drive, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 31 for a Macomb city ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in the 300 block of North Ward Street.

On Sept. 24 at 2:28 a.m. non student Lorenzo James, 19, of Chicago, was arrested at Charles and Adams streets on a McDonough County warrant for failure to appear. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 2:44 a.mm. where he was lodged pending bond.

On Sept. 20 at 1:09 p.m. Kendel Milner, 23, of 1115 Washington Hall, was arrested in the University Union on a McDonough County warrant. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 1:13 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On Sept. 20 at 7:59 p.m. Ronald Sanders, 18, of 518 Bayliss Hall, was arrested in Bayliss on a McDonough County warrant for theft (in connection with the recent bicycle thefts on campus). He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 8:02 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On Sept. 21 at 4:29 p.m. JaJuan Reynolds, 18, of 720 Tanner Hall, was arrested in Tanner on a McDonough County warrant for theft (in connection with the recent bicycle thefts on campus). He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 4:36 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On Sept. 21 at 5:41 p.m. a student reported her Apple Watch, valued at $500, which she had lost in Henninger Hall on Aug. 24 and had been turned into the information desk, was lost or stolen. The theft is under investigation.

On Sept. 18 at 2:23 a.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in Corbin Hall. No smoke or fire was found and no injuries were reported.

On Sept. 18 at 10:07 a.m. a student came to Mowbray Hall to report a deceptive online job offer, which he sent $2,900 to. The incident is under investigation.

On Sept. 19 at 11:04 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in Tanner Hall. The alarm was activated by a cooking mishap and no injuries were reported.

On Sept. 17 at 2:37 a.m. Brian Fanella, 18, of 1111 Tanner Hall, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 24 for a Macomb city ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor near Avery Street.

At the same time, non-student Dayshalie Dorado, 22, of Chicago, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 10 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of drug paraphernalia in Thompson Hall.

On Sept. 3 at 7:08 a.m. non-student ?Torey Evans, 19, of Chicago, was arrested in Bayliss Hall on charges of kidnapping, intimidation and unlawful restraint after he allegedly forced a Chicago-area Lyft driver to ?drive him from Chicago to Macomb. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 11:42 a.m. pending bond. Telonda Isom, 18, of 1008 Bayliss Hall, was arrested in Bayliss for obstruction of justice. She was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 9:43 a.m. pending bond.

On Sept. 3 at 6:10 a.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in the Donald S. Spencer Student Recreation Center. No smoke or fire were found and no injuries were reported.

On Sept. 3 at 10:44 p.m. a student in Henninger Hall was judicially referred for cannabis possession.

On Sept. 4 at 12:48 a.m. Jordan Taylor, 18, of 824 Tanner Hall and non-student Brian Sutton, 19, of Hanover Park, IL, were issued notices to appear Oct. 10 for Macomb City ordinance violations for possession of cannabis (less than 10 grams) ?in Tanner.

On Sept. 4 at 2:30 p.m. an employee of the Harry Mussatto Golf Course reported the theft of $625 in cash and checks from the course's pro shop. The incident is under investigation.

On Aug. 28 at 3:47 p.m., the Western Illinois University Office of Public Safety received a report that a student was sexually assaulted by a male known to her. The assault occurred in the evening hours of Aug. 25 in a residence hall. The University is investigating the incident.

On Aug. 28 at 8:32 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the International House on Westbrook Circle. The alarm was activated by a cooking mishap and no injuries were reported.

On Aug. 22 at 11:15 p.m. non student Jacob Iwanylo, 21, of Buckeye, AZ, was arrested on Western Avenue for driving on a suspended license. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 11:19 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On Aug. 22 at 11:52 p.m. two students near Lake Ruth were judicially referred for possession of cannabis (less than 10 grams). Kevin Toledano, 19, of 828 Olson Hall was given a notice to appear Sept. 26 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis (less than 10 grams).

He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 1:16 a.m. pending bond. At 12:55 a.m. five students were judicially referred in Q-Lot for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On Aug. 20 at 1:34 a.m. two non-student juveniles were arrested in Q-Lot for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and violating curfew. Both were released to family members.

On Aug. 20 at 3:24 a.m. Niko Petrone, 20, of 414 Thompson Hall, was arrested on Murray Street for obstruction of identification and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 3:29 a.m. pending bond.

On Aug. 20 at 3:34 p.m. a student reported the theft of a wallet, containing $60 and various identification and credit cards, from the Donald Spencer Recreation Center.

On Aug. 20 at 8:20 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in Tanner Hall. The alarm was activated by someone smoking and no injuries were reported.

On May 8, the Western Illinois University Office of Public Safety received a report that a student was sexually assaulted by a male known to her. The assault occurred in the early morning hours of May 7 in a residence hall. The Office of Public Safety is investigating the incident.

On May 5 at 2:12 p.m. a University employee reported the theft of two fire extinguishers, valued at $130, from Thompson Hall. The incident is under investigation.

On May 5 at 4:04 p.m. nonstudent James Davison, 23, of Blue Island, was arrested at University Village for criminal trespass to real property. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 4:10 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On May 5 at 9:59 p.m. Alex Tyson, 19, of 620 Henninger Hall, was issued a notice to appear June 6 for a Macomb City ordinance violation  for possession of cannabis less than 10 grams in Henninger.

On May 6 at 4:40 a.m. the Macomb Fire Department was called to Corbin Hall following an alarm on the sixth floor. A pull station had been activated; there was no fire and no reported injuries. The incident is under investigation.

On May 7 at 12:22 a.m. the Macomb Fire Department was called to Thompson Hall for the report of a smoke on the second floor, which was causing by a cooking mishap. There was no fire and no reported injuries.

On May 7 at 3:34 p.m.  a student reported that his locked bicycle, valued at $200, had been stolen from the Lincoln Hall bike rack. The incident is under investigation.

On May 7 at 3:50 p.m. a student reported that someone had stolen $25 cash from his wallet from his unlocked residence hall room. The incident is under investigation.

On April 21 at 5:03 p.m. a student reported at Mowbray Hall the theft of a parking hang tag, valued at $50, from his unlocked vehicle in Q-Lot. The incident is under investigation.

On April 21 at 8:49 p.m. Candice Royal, 19, of 238 Corbin Hall, was arrested in Corbin on a McDonough County warrant for failure to appear. She was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 8:56 p.m. where she was lodged pending bond.
