WIU Office of Public Safety Report 06-23-17 to 06-26-17

On June 23 at 10:42 a.m. non-student Heather Griffith, 18, of Villa Park, IL, was issued a notice to appear Aug. 1 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in Corbin Hall.

On June 24 at 11:53 p.m. non-student Logan Benge, 23, of Sciota, IL, was arrested at the intersection of U.S. Route 67 and Tower Road for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to McDonough County Jail on June 25 at 1:45 a.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On June 25 at 1:49 a.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in the Corbin/Olson dining center. No fire was found and no injuries were reported.

Hancock County Sheriff Scott Bentzinger reports the following arrest for the week of June 12', 2017 through June 18`'', 2017
06/12/17 Trish K Biswell, age 34, of West Point, IL was arrested and charged with Driving While License Suspended. Biswell was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date.
Tyler R McVeigh, age 25, of Hamilton, IL was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery and Aggravated Battery. McVeigh remains lodged in the Hancock County Jail in lieu of bail awaiting his next court appearance.
06/13/17 James D Schamett, age 37, of Keokuk, IA was arrested on a Macon County Warrant charging him with Violation of an Order of Protection and Driving While License Revoked. Schamett was also arrested on a DeWitt County Warrant charging him with Operating an Uninsured Vehicle and Driving While License Suspended. Schamett was released to Macon County Authorities.
Cody M Ripperda, age 23, of Augusta, IL was arrested and charged with Driving While License Suspended and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Ripperda was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date.
Mathew C Noll, age 46, of Fort Madison, IA was arrested and charged with Stalking and Criminal Trespass to Real Property. Noll was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date.
06/14/17 Richard A Hambry, age 30, of Hamilton, IL was arrested on a Hancock County Warrant charging him with Failure to Appear on original charges of Driving Under the Influence. Hambry was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date.
06/15/17 Joice L Boley, age 35, of Keokuk, IA was arrested and charged with Improper Use of a Registration. Boley was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date.
Franz Q Dunsworth, age 31, of Keokuk, IA was arrested on a Hancock County Warrant charging him with Failure to Appear on original charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Obstructing Justice, Driving Under the Influence and Driving While License Suspended. Dunsworth remains lodged in the Hancock County Jail in lieu of bail awaiting his next court appearance.

06/06/17 Alexandra J Powers, age 29, of Dallas City, IL was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery. Powers was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date.
06/08/17 William J Carpenter, age 49, of Carthage, IL was arrested and charged with Burglary. Carpenter remains lodged in the Hancock County Jail in lieu of bail awaiting his next court appearance.

06/10/17 Judith A Price, age 55, of Elvaston, IL was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Price was released after posting the required bond and given a future court date.
Mark D Barber, age 53, of Warsaw, IL was arrested and charged with Threatening a Public Official. Barber remains lodged in the Hancock County Jail in lieu of bail awaiting his next court appearance.
06/11/17 Kari A Bank, age 28, of Keokuk, IA was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Criminal Damage to State Property, and Endangering the Life/Health of a Child. Bank remains lodged in the Hancock County Jail in lieu of bail awaiting her initial court appearance.

On May 10 at 6:20 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in Tanner Hall. No smoke or fire was found and no injuries were reported.

On May 10 at 9:30 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a power line and tree branch on fire at Horn Field Campus. No injuries were reported.

On May 11 at 5:53 p.m. a student reported to OPS that he was sexually assaulted by a female known to him. The assault occurred in October 2016 in a residence hall. The Office of Public Safety is investigating the incident.

On May 12 at 2:21 a.m. Taylor Jordan, 19, of 931 Thompson Hall, was issued a notice to appear June 13 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in Corbin Hall.

WIU Office of Public Safety Report 05-08-17 to 05-10-17

On May 8, the Western Illinois University Office of Public Safety received a report that a student was sexually assaulted by a male known to her. The assault occurred in the early morning hours of May 7 in a residence hall. The Office of Public Safety is investigating the incident.

On May 8 at 5:58 p.m. in Henninger Hall, Jasabella Clark, 18, of 916 Henninger Hall, was issued a notice to appear in court June 13​ for a Macomb City Ordinance violation for fighting in Henninger Hall.

On May 8 at 5:59 p.m. in Henninger Hall, Arial Galloway, 20, of 1210 Bayliss Hall, and Briana Hykes, 19, of 411 Bayliss Hall, were each issued a notice to appear in court June 13 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for fighting in Henninger Hall.

On May 8 at 10:45 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in Olson Hall. No smoke or fire was found and no injuries were reported.

On May 9 at 4:58 p.m. a student in Bayliss Hall was judicially referred for behavior.

On May 9 at 9:47 p.m. a student in Henninger Hall was judicially referred for trespassing.

On May 5 at 3:52 a.m. Margaret Voss, 19, of 1209 Bayliss Hall, received notice to appear June 13 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for expired registration, possession of cannabis less than 10 grams, and possession of a false ID in Q-Lot. Candis Pena, 19, of 1217 Bayliss Hall, received notice to appear June 13 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of a false ID.

On May 5 at 11:32 a.m. nonstudent James Davison, 23, of Blue Island, was arrested at University Village for criminal trespass to real property. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 11:39 a.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On May 5 at 2:12 p.m. a University employee reported the theft of two fire extinguishers, valued at $130, from Thompson Hall. The incident is under investigation.

On May 5 at 4:04 p.m. nonstudent James Davison, 23, of Blue Island, was arrested at University Village for criminal trespass to real property. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 4:10 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On May 5 at 9:59 p.m. Alex Tyson, 19, of 620 Henninger Hall, was issued a notice to appear June 6 for a Macomb City ordinance violation  for possession of cannabis less than 10 grams in Henninger.

On May 6 at 4:40 a.m. the Macomb Fire Department was called to Corbin Hall following an alarm on the sixth floor. A pull station had been activated; there was no fire and no reported injuries. The incident is under investigation.

On May 7 at 12:22 a.m. the Macomb Fire Department was called to Thompson Hall for the report of a smoke on the second floor, which was causing by a cooking mishap. There was no fire and no reported injuries.

On May 7 at 3:34 p.m.  a student reported that his locked bicycle, valued at $200, had been stolen from the Lincoln Hall bike rack. The incident is under investigation.

On May 7 at 3:50 p.m. a student reported that someone had stolen $25 cash from his wallet from his unlocked residence hall room. The incident is under investigation.

On May 4 at 12:24 p.m. a student came to Mowbray Hall to report the theft a student identification card. The incident is under investigation.

On May 4 at 9:34 p.m. non-student Darren Miles, 23, of Romeoville, was arrested in Washington Hall for criminal trespass. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 10:09 p.m. pending bond.

On May 4 at 11:24 p.m. a student in Q-lot was judicially referred for alcohol.

On April 28 at 11:31 a.m. a student was judicially referred at Mowbray Hall for theft of a library book.

On April 28 at 8:02 p.m. Connor Rektorski, 19, of 710 Bayliss Hall, was arrested in Q-Lot for reckless driving. At 8:26 p.m. non-student Kenneth Lloyd, 23, of University Park, was arrested in Q-Lot for driving while license suspended, reckless driving, no proof of insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were transported to the McDonough County Jail at 8:55 p.m. where they were lodged pending bond.

On April 28 at 8:29 p.m. a student reported at Mowbray Hall that she was the victim of a battery in the library parking lot by a female known to known to her. The incident is under investigation.

On April 28 at 8:30 p.m. three students in Bayliss Hall were judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On April 28 at 10:18 p.m. Nathalie Castro, 20, of 1141 Thompson Hall, was issued a notice to appear May 30 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis less than 10 grams in Thompson.

On April 29 at 1 a.m. Tomasz Bydyk, 19, of 610 Henninger Hall, was issued a notice to appear May 30 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis less than 10 grams in the Bay-Henn service lot.

On April 29 at 1:21 a.m. one student in Q-Lot was judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and possession of a false ID.

On April 29 at 1:44 a.m. non-students Lacey Baxter, 24, of Dolton, and Dante Perry-Arnold, 26, of Dekalb, were each issued a notice to appear May 30 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for open alcohol in public at the Bay-Hen service lot.

On April 29 at 2:53 a.m. Natalie Mota, 19, of 1114 Henninger Hall, and Jade Robles, 19, of 1002 Bayliss Hall, were each issued a notice to appear May 30 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in Q-Lot.

On April 29 at 3:08 a.m. James Corralejo, 18, of 804 Henninger Hall, was arrested in Q-Lot for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 3:14 a.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On April 29 at 9:07 p.m. two students in Tanner Hall were judicially referred for cannabis.

On April 29 at 10:39 p.m. one student in Tanner Hall was judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and possession of cannabis. Non-student Allison Kurth, 19, of New Lenox, was issued a notice to appear May 30 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis less than 10 grams.

On April 30 at 2:07 a.m. two students in Tanner Hall were judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On April 30 at 9:03 p.m. an individual in Tanner Hall reported that prescription pills were stolen from the room sometime during the day. The incident is under investigation

WIU Office of Public Safety Report 04-10-17 to 04-12-17

On April 10 at 5:19 p.m. a student came to Mowbray Hall to report a telephone, which he purchased from a third party, that he now believes is stolen. The incident is under investigation.

On April 10 at 5:19 p.m. a student in Tanner Hall reported someone had withdrawn $200 from her bank account. The incident is under investigation.

On April 11 at 11:40 p.m. a Sodexo employee at the Tanner Hall C-Store reported a box of plastic forks, valued at $37.97, missing from the store. The incident is under investigation.

On April 11 at 4:17 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to the Corbin/Olson Dining Center for a fire alarm. Smoke was generated by grease in a pot and a University employee sustained a minor injury after removing the pot from the stove. Damage to the stove and ventilation hood was estimated at $500.

She was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 2:19 a.m. where she was lodged pending bond. At 2:34 a.m. Makaylia Jackson, 19, of 921 Tanner Hall, was issued a notice to appear May 9 for a Macomb city ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol and possession of cannabis in Tanner.

On March 30 at 1:28 p.m. a student reported that an iPhone 6, valued at $700, had been stolen from the Olson Hall first floor lounge. The incident is under investigation.

On March 30 at 8:37 p.m. Matthew Chausse, 21, of 104C Grote Hall, was issued a notice to appear May 2 for two Macomb City ordinance violations for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession cannabis at the McDonough County Jail.

On March 30 at 9:33 p.m. one student in Tanner Hall was judicially referred for theft.

On March 31 at 2:12 a.m. Mariah Vinson, 20, and Lori Reeves, 19, both of 434 Olson Hall were each issued notices to appear May 2 for Macomb City ordinance violations of consumption of alcohol by a minor and disorderly conduct in Tanner Hall.

On March 21 at 3:40 p.m. a University employee reported that a WIU flag, valued at $25, had been stolen from the preschool playground. Damage to the fence surrounding the playground, estimated at $60, was also reported.

He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 2:43 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On March 4 at 2:42 a.m. non student Daquan Barfield, 22, of Chicago, received a notice to appear April 11 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for open alcohol in public in Q-Lot. Non student Brittany Burrell, 21, of Chicago, was arrested in Q-Lot for possession of a firearm with no FOID and possession of ammunition with no FOID. She was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 2:49 a.m. where she was lodged pending bond.

On March 4 at 5:11 a.m. non student Tyrone Hunter, 20, of Chicago, was arrested near Thompson Hall for criminal trespass to real property. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 5:19 a.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On March 5 at 5:08 p.m. non student Dariel Roach, 18, of Maywood, received a notice to appear April 11 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for fighting in the Tanner Hall circle lot.

On March 5 at 8:22 p.m. non student Tommy Morris, 21, of Chicago, was arrested near the north quad bus gate on a McDonough County warrant for domestic battery. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 8:26 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On March 5 at 9:09 p.m. Jacob McGlone, 19, and Larry Vivoda, 19, both of 211 Henninger Hall, were each issued a notice to appear April 11for Macomb City ordinance violations for possession of a false ID (Vivoda) and possession of drug paraphernalia (McGlone) in Henninger.

On March 5 at 12:11 a.m. non student Michael Young, 19, of Chicago was arrested in Tanner for obstructing identification and resisting a police, officer. Non student Akira Roberts, 19, of Chicago, was arrested in Tanner at 12:22 a.m. for obstructing a police officer. They were both transported to McDonough County Jail at 12:24 a.m. where they were lodged pending bond.

On Feb. 18 at 7:50 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in Thompson Hall. No smoke or fire was found and no injuries were reported.

On Feb. 19 at 2:30 a.m. non-student Noah Class 20, of Tremont, IL, was arrested in the 800 block of West Adams Street for driving under the influence of alcohol and he was ticketed for squealing/screeching tires and illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 4:17 a.m. pending bond.

On Feb. 19 at 4:02 p.m. non-student Cameron Hironimus, 19, of Blandinsville, IL, was arrested in Higgins Hall for criminal trespass to real property. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 4:13 p.m. pending bond. At the same time, three students were judicially referred for behavior (trespassing) at Higgins.

On Feb. 19 at 11:30 p.m. a student in Tanner Hall reported the theft of a purse and its contents, valued at $40, missing from her Tanner Hall room. The incident is under investigation.

On Feb. 7 at 10:59 a.m. Kejuan Rucker, 20, of 331 Olson Hall, was arrested in Morgan Hall on a McDonough County warrant for failure to appear in court. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 11:19 a.m. pending bond.

On Feb. 7 at 12:42 p.m. a student in Corbin/Olson reported being the victim of a fraudulent email offering employment, which drew $2,150 out of his bank account.

On Jan. 23 at 6:40 p.m. a University employee came to Mowbray Hall to report the theft of an iPad and keyboard from a Morgan Hall office. The items were valued at $360 and the incident is under investigation.

On Dec. 13 at 2:51 p.m. an employee reported a University sign (no value listed) located at the Kerr Farm (at 9775 N. 1400th St., Macomb) was stolen sometime between 5:30 p.m. Dec. 12 and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 13. The incident is under investigation.

On Dec. 14 at 3:54 p.m. Kentrell K. McKinney, 19, of 1117 Thompson Hall, was arrested in Mowbray Hall for criminal sexual assault in a residence hall during the early morning hours of Dec. 14. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 4 p.m., where he was lodged pending bond.
