Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf has turned his life around quite remarkably in recent years. After a short lived four year NFL career despite being the second overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft, Leaf ran into some legal troubles. He served jail time between 2012-2014 after a series of drug and burglary related arrests.
Since being released, Leaf has managed to get clean, with help from Transcend Recovery Community. Ryan’s passion now is helping others with addictions and mental health issues (since he’s overcome his). After prison, he signed up for Transcend to help him, and he is now their spokesman.
Ryan and I discussed his recovery and the importance of Transcend. We then dove into his media career, as he now has gigs covering college football at Sirius XM and FOX Sports. We also discussed Super Bowl storylines, and something that he thought isn't being talked about as much as it should be related to the big game.
