Western Illinois Baseball's Drue Galassi has been named to Collegiate Baseball's Freshman All-America Team. Galssi, a redshirt freshman outfielder hit .281 on the year, adding six doubles, one triple and 29 runs scored. Galassi also finished second on the squad with nine stolen bases and a .519 slugging percentage.


A highlight of Galssi's season was a win over SIU-Edwardsville, in which he crushed two grand slams. In that 21-4 victory, the Peoria Richwoods product went 5-5 at the plate, scoring five runs while driving in ten. The performance earned him the National 'Co-Player of the Week' award from Collegiate Baseball and The Summit League's 'Player of the Week' honor.


Galssi becomes the third Leatherneck to earn this distinction.
