Macomb's late season winning streak came to an end last night in the 3A Regional Semifinals at Peoria High School. MHS lost the game 73-39 to Normal University High, ending the Bombers season. Macomb had won 6 straight and 8 of their last 9 coming into the contest, including a 46-45 Regional Quarterfinal victory over Galesburg Monday night.

Playing their 3rd game in 6 days and without having a real opportunity to scout U-High, Macomb fell handidly against the long and athletic Pioneers squad. MHS took a 3-0 lead to start the game on a Carter Fayhee contested three-pointer, but did not hold the lead again after that. The score was 33-19 at halftime, but in the 3rd quarter Macomb got blown out of the water, en route to the 34 point defeat.

The Bombers finish the year with a 13-15 record. Macomb returns a majority of its core group, including 4 of its 5 starters as well as numerous contributors off the bench. Sophomore point guard Ben Higgins led Macomb in scoring in this game, accounting for 11 points. Senior Quintin Adler was second on the team in this one, finishing with 8 points in his final game in a Bombers uniform.
