WIU Office of Public Safety Report 03-22-17 to 03-24-17

On March 23 at 4:20 p.m. a student reported that headphones, valued at $325, had been stolen from Knoblauch Hall. The incident is under investigation.

On March 24 at 1:47 a.m. non-student John Tyler, 21, of Chicago, was arrested at the intersection of Linden Lane and Westbrook Circle on a McDonough County warrant for failure to appear and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to McDonough County Jail at 3:19 a.m. where he was lodged pending bond.


WIU Office of Public Safety Report 03-20-17 to 03-22-17

On March 21 at 12:15 a.m. a student reported a sweatshirt, valued at $30, had been stolen from his Bayliss Hall room. The incident is under investigation. Another student was judicially referred for possession of cannabis.

On March 21 at 11:59 a.m. one student in Grote Hall was judicially referred for possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

On March 21 at 2:47 p.m. the Macomb Fire Department was called to Sallee Hall for a fire alarm in the elevator equipment area. There was no fire and no injuries were reported.

On March 21 at 3:40 p.m. a University employee reported that a WIU flag, valued at $25, had been stolen from the preschool playground. Damage to the fence surrounding the playground, estimated at $60, was also reported.
The incident is under investigation.




WIU Office of Public Safety Report 03-13-17 to 03-15-17

On March 13 at 4:37 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in Tanner Hall. No fire was found and no injuries were reported.

On March 14 at 11 a.m. non-student Catrice Amegan, 37, of Macomb, was arrested at 214 E. Washington St. on a McDonough County warrant for deceptive practices. She was transported to McDonough County Jail at 11:09 a.m. where she was lodged pending bond.




WIU Office of Public Safety Report 03-06-17 to 03-08-17

On March 6 at 2:38 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire in a room in Waggoner Hall. A roll of tape was accidentally left on a burner, causing it to catch fire. No damage or injuries were reported.

On March 6 at 10:40 p.m. Keith Ewing, 19, of 1110 Bayliss Hall was arrested in Bayliss for unlawful possession of 30-100 grams of cannabis and unlawful possession of firearm ammunition. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 11:17 p.m. pending bond.


WIU Office of Public Safety Report 03-03-17 to 03-06-17

On March 3 at 2:30 p.m. non student Edgar Powell-Holman, 19, of Chicago, was arrested in the 1500 block of West Jackson on a McDonough County warrant for failure to appear and for criminal trespass to real property and theft. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 2:43 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On March 3 at 4:45 p.m. one student in Tanner Hall was judicially referred for behavior.

On March 3 at 8:39 p.m. two students in Bayliss Hall were judicially referred for possession of cannabis. Another student was judicially referred for possession of cannabis and illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.

On March 3 at 9:09 p.m. one student in Tanner Hall was judicially referred for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.

On March 4 at 2:42 a.m. non student Daquan Barfield, 22, of Chicago, received a notice to appear April 11 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for open alcohol in public in Q-Lot. Non student Brittany Burrell, 21, of Chicago, was arrested in Q-Lot for possession of a firearm with no FOID and possession of ammunition with no FOID. She was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 2:49 a.m. where she was lodged pending bond.

On March 4 at 5:11 a.m. non student Tyrone Hunter, 20, of Chicago, was arrested near Thompson Hall for criminal trespass to real property. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 5:19 a.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On March 5 at 5:08 p.m. non student Dariel Roach, 18, of Maywood, received a notice to appear April 11 for a Macomb City ordinance violation for fighting in the Tanner Hall circle lot.

On March 5 at 8:22 p.m. non student Tommy Morris, 21, of Chicago, was arrested near the north quad bus gate on a McDonough County warrant for domestic battery. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 8:26 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On March 5 at 9:09 p.m. Jacob McGlone, 19, and Larry Vivoda, 19, both of 211 Henninger Hall, were each issued a notice to appear April 11for Macomb City ordinance violations for possession of a false ID (Vivoda) and possession of drug paraphernalia (McGlone) in Henninger.

On March 5 at 12:11 a.m. non student Michael Young, 19, of Chicago was arrested in Tanner for obstructing identification and resisting a police, officer. Non student Akira Roberts, 19, of Chicago, was arrested in Tanner at 12:22 a.m. for obstructing a police officer. They were both transported to McDonough County Jail at 12:24 a.m. where they were lodged pending bond.
