August 1, 2013 to July 31, 2014
1. Establishment of an internship program designed to assist members of the community to acquire skills needed for broadcast employment: We have an ongoing internship program through contact with a Western Illinois University (WIU) professor.  In the past year, we have had 13 interns.

2. Participation in job banks, Internet programs, and other programs designed to promote outreach generally (i.e., that are not primarily directed to providing notification to specific job vacancies). We participate in radioonline.com and allaccess.com

3. Participation in scholarship programs designed to assist students interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting: We have established an annual scholarship for broadcasting students at WIU.  (This scholarship is only one of two scholarships Western Illinois University currently has for broadcasting students.)

4. Exclusive sponsorship of “Communiversity” at WIU: Every year between the hours of 3pm to 5pm, we hold this event one week after the students arrive.  Radio station staff introduces themselves and Western Illinois businesses to incoming students.  A table is set up to discuss employment opportunities in broadcasting and marketing.  It gives us and the businesses an opportunity to be in front 2-4,000 new freshman, transfer students and master degree students at one occasion.

5. Provision of training to personnel of unaffiliated non-profit organizations interested in broadcast employment opportunities that would enable them to better refer job candidates for broadcast positions:
The stations have an ongoing relationship with the Chairman of Western Illinois University’s Broadcast Department by keeping in contact on a regular basis on how the station and the university can work together to promote radio broadcasting.

6.  Other outreach activities: On two occasions, the Sales Manager spoke to WIU marketing classes about employment in radio, including the process of selling radio advertising, competitive commissions and benefir packages, customer service, excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, building credibility and trust through client-focused selling with a winning attitude; and in April of 2012 the General Manager spoke before the Chamber of Commerce Leadership class on how media positively affects the community in which we live.

7. Both the Sales Manager and Program Director attended the WIU Career Fair.
